Biography

Mr. Lemcke received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science (with a specialization in international relations) from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1985, and his law degree from the University of Notre Dame in 1988. During his second year of law school, he lived in London, England, and completed the Concannon International Law program at Notre Dame’s year-abroad campus in Mayfair. Mr. Lemcke has been admitted to practice law in Nevada since 1988, initially with Jones, Jones, Close & Brown, and then with Jones Vargas (the firm resulting from the 1997 merger of JJC&B and the Reno-based firm of Vargas & Bartlett). He has practiced family law exclusively since 1992. After 15 years as a partner in Jones Vargas, Mr. Lemcke joined Pecos Law Group in 2012. Although his practice is now limited to the Family Division of Nevada’s state courts, he is also licensed in U.S. District Court and the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. Mr. Lemcke has been a past lecturer at the annual meeting of the Family Law Section of the State Bar of Nevada, both on the legal primer for new lawyers and paralegals known as the Nuts and Bolts of Family Law, and on the subject of rehabilitative alimony. He also presented at the 2010 Nevada Judges Conference on the legal standards for attorney’s fees awards in Nevada state courts. Mr. Lemcke has been selected by his peers for inclusion in The Best Lawyers in America every year since 2005, and in Mountain States Super Lawyers every year since 2007. He has been honored multiple times as Las Vegas’ Family Lawyer of the Year by The Best Lawyers in America.
