Judge Faces Ethics Charges for Posting About Cases on Social Media

On Behalf of | Apr 25, 2015 | Our Blog

In our blogs we have frequently discussed the pitfalls surrounding posting on social media

during your court case. What happens, however, when it is not you or your ex posting on social media

about your case? What happens when it is your judge posting about your case on social media?

Galveston County Judge Michelle Slaughter has been rebuked by a judicial ethics panel for posting on

her Facebook page about trials in her courtroom. At least one case has been declared a mistrial because

of the postings. Slaughter says she did nothing wrong and will appeal the ruling by the ethics panel. If

you are concerned about social media and your case in Las Vegas, call the attorneys at Pecos Law Group.
