The Southern Nevada Health District is a public entity, separate from the State of Nevada and from Clark County. The Health District has jurisdiction over all public health matters in Clark County and regulates food establishments, public swimming pools, tattoo shops, and solid waste disposal sites. Persons affected by Health District enforcement actions have a right to contest such actions including through administrative hearing and judicial review.
